An integrated programme for the mobilization and sensitization of
migrant communities for capacity building and development
in Sub‐Saharan Africa

What is it?
The migration and development project of AfroEuro Foundation is aimed at providing training and create a forum for knowledge transfer on management and investment skills to key actors in the informal sector in developing countries.

Who is it for?
At the moment, the pilot country is Ghana and targeted at traders and business community in the informal sector in Kumasi and Kibi. At a later phase of the project, feasibility studies will be carried out to study the possibility of expanding to other parts of Ghana, sectors and the West African region.

Project Support
AfroEuro Foundation secured funding for the project from HIVOS – the Dutch Humanist Organisation for international development cooperation. Under the Linkis financing scheme, HIVOS funded the project for the first two phases of the project from January to July 2007

Activities

Information meetings were sensitization meetings carried out in the four cities to inform the community on the project and how to participate. Registration forms were provided to participants. Evaluation forms were also provided to ensure adequate feedback was had in order to improve on future meetings
